I have been in Dresden Germany with the TRibe House group. It has been a great time of connecting with a group of German Musicians to encourage oneanother in our music and Art. So cool to experience what is going on in Germany with so many hugely talented musicians here.

After much rersearch and discussion with various techy friends I have decided on some new recording Gear with the intention of getting on with a few new projects which I have had perculating for a few years. I hope in the next few months to have some new music up on the site for your enjoyment which will be made available for down load if you like to. I am excited to have this opportunity to record again after a time where I have only recorded music on other people's recordings for the past few years. I love doing that for sure, but I am itching to do my own music as well of course. So as they say 'watch this space'! thanks for dropping by Love Graham.

Art Is Hope for Orphans in Malawi

I have recently become a champion for a cause I feel very strongly about. It is called Hope for Orphaned Children in Malawi and it is affiliated with the international charity called Hope for the Nations. For quite some years I have been aware of a small vilage in Malawi called Hope Village because a couple of my dear friends lived and worked there. Recently I was approached by Hope with the invitation to become an artist affiliate with the idea that I can Champion a hope cause of my choice. So I have begun the quest to raise some money for this important work in Malawi.
It is important for me to say that I don't get paid at all to represent this project I just want to help make it known to other people so that the Children there get a better chance in life. . If you want to donate a few coppers to the cause you can do so on line at the hopeforthe nations website (follow the lonk below) Also If you would like to champion one of their causes you can also apply to that as well.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and Bless you for helping if you can.

Dresden

Just arrived home from Dresden Germany and again I was struck bu the beauty of the city and it's people. Dresden was fire bombed to ruins at the end of the 2nd great war and over the years the people have rebuilt the city using as many original stones they could salvage. What remains to day is a truly magnificent city, a testament to the Human Spirit and the determination to go on in the face of intense wrong doing.
It's nearly Easter as I write and the rising from the ruins also speaks to me of the resurrection of Christ and the intense hope that this reality gives to the world. I am given hope to rise up from the ruins of my own mistakes and wrong doings and live again.
If Christ is for us who can be against us? Happy Easter "come on up for the Rising" B Springsteen.

Creative space

I started the New year thinkiing that my office/studio space was pretty uninspiring and needed a face lift. I just thought that given that I do spend quite a bit of time there it should be an inspiring place. It has been quite the task doing everything but I am happy to say that it is almost complete and even though I say it myself, it is pretty cool. I have had lots of help from my kids who love working with dad of course and I too enjoy them so much. I am looking forward to getting back in there and beginning to record a few new things and perhaps write some new tunes and such.
One thing that was very funny was that when I went to the counter space maker he asked me what colour I wanted. I said "it doesn't matter too much as long as it's funky" he said arn't you involving your wife in that decision to which I replied " this is my space and I can do what I like there" he laughed and said I could tell you wern't fitting out a kitchen because you wouldn't get away with that then! Oh the joys of communication eh?
Thanks for popping by and do join the mailing list to be kept informed of new things. ( I will never spam you I promise)
with love, Graham.

I will be performing a gig at the worship cafe in Kelowna BC on January 17th I guess it will be a good chance to thank God for tea. Over the years I have used tea to cheer me up. It is a comforting thing for me to put the kettle on and make a nice cuppa and has consoled me on many occasions! If you can tune in on line please do. www.worshpcafe.net 4pm Pacific standard time. I will think of more things to be thankful for by then!! Cheers, Graham

Christmas fun

So I worked with the Kids to put the Christmas tree up and hung the lights on the front of the house and it was so much fun. You should see the tree with so many home made ornaments that the kids made! It looks fantastic. I remember the experience fom when I was a kid too, I always loved the warm feeling of contentment staring at the glow of the christmas lights and hearing the Christmas Carols playing in the back ground. I am not a great shopper but I do enjoy giving the gifts and all the fun that Christmas is with my family.
I just put up a Youtube posting of a Christmas Carol I recorded with my Dad. It's called Silent night. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HT91MrCzqU I wish you and yours a really Happy Christmas nd a prosperous NewYear. Thanks for stopping by the site. Graham.

BALI

I am about to head off to Bali which I found out is in Indonesia. I am so looking forward to it because it is a part of the world I have never been to. I guess I am a bit aprehensive given that it will be so different than what I am used to but I love the adventure. I look forward to playing my music there and seeing if it translates as well. After the trip I will visit Hong Kong as well which should be a blast too. I am always amazed at the way that music has allowed me to see the world. I encourage younger artists all the time to keep at it because the music can open up so many possibilities to you especially if you dont get entangled in the pursuit of stardom. There's a lot of musicians out there and very few are famous but we still make a living, now that is cool. If you live in Bali I will see you in the curry house... Keep being you Graham.

Thankful

We just celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada which is a great feast of family fun and turkey! I have been so struck by how important it is to be thankful for the small stuff. Thankfulness is such a foundational attitude which can determine how we view life and how we react when things either go great or even how we endure in the hard times as well. I have been thinking about how thankfulness is like an antidote to discontentment or selfishness or any of the the other ugly things that surface in me when I forget to say thanks. So today I am trying to walk around being thankful and let's face it there are many things to be thankful for. On a more spiritual note I was also thinking about how the bible teaches us to be thankful in all circumstances and how hard this is especially in the tough times! With this in mind I thought how even if life is really tough and I am suffering loss or grief there is still an eternal hope that I have, the hope that one day I will pass through the veil of death and in that moment all suffering will cease forever and for this I am unbelievably thankful for what Christ has done on the cross for me. So that's me on this thankgiving weekend in Canada. Oh I almost forgot.....Thanks for popping by!! Graham.

north

When I first came to Canada from Britain I had no idea of the vastness of the country. I remember seeing the great lakes from the air and I thought I was stil over the Atlantic but still the best way to get an idea of the scale of the country is not from the air, rather it is by travelling the roads and seeing the hour after hour of breath taking scenery along the way. I just returned from a long trip up north, well actualy even though we drove for two days we were actually only part way up the country! The North of Canada is amazing. The people are friendly and hardy and the terrain is very sweet. it's great to see the wildlife especially the buffalo roaming around and the deer and even bears! After playing music at a family camp fr a week we made the long trek home again. On the second day we drove 14 hours which is a long day especially with young children. Memories are made of such things and I am glad that we put our selves out to create precious memories as a family. Upon returning I said to my wife Natalia, "well we made it and we still love each other and like each other!" anyone who has braved such a trip will understand what we meant. When we got home the air in our town was thick with smoke as 3 major forest fires ravaged the outlying areas causing some 6000 people to be evacuated. Canada is a wild place but how I love it here. Thanks for your kind interest in what I am up to. Many blessings Graham.
